Plant Tissue Testing

Why test plant tissue? Plant tissue analysis is a useful test for determining the nutritional status of plants. It should be used when diagnosing plant nutrient deficiency symptoms, and for determining whether or not a plant is taking up specific nutrients in a given time period. Tissue analysis should be used in conjunction with soil nutrient analysis, i.e. a soil test.

Plant tissue testing services are provided by the University of Massachusetts Soil and Plant Tissue Testing Laboratory. The lab is located on the campus of The University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Testing services are available to all.
