Common Name: wild radish
Scientific Name: Raphanus raphanistrum L.
Family Name: Brassicaceae (Cruciferae) - Mustard Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - introduced annual or winter annual, reproducing by seed

stems - upright, branched mostly above, fine pubescent with stiff hairs growth habit 1, growth habit 2, young plant, seedling

leaves - alternate, oblong, lobed pinnately with lobes large toward tip, large round terminal lobe, upper leaved undivided; all leaves with margins wavy, stiff hairs above and below leaves 1, leaves 2

flowers - 4-petaled, pale yellow sometimes white, petals sometimes light purple tinged or with noticeable purple veins flowers, flowers 2

seedpods - constricted between seeds, appear segmented, beak at tip, break apart when mature seedpods 1, seedpods 2
