Identification Notes:

life cycle - introduced perennial, reproducing by seed and stolons

stems – prostrate and creeping, rooting at nodes and forming large patches, flowering stems upright, branched, grooved and usually hairy growth habit 1, growth habit 2, growth habit 3, growth habit 4, growth habit 5, growth habit 6, growth habit 7, growth habit 8

leaves – alternate, dark green with whitish mottled markings, hairy, divided into 3 segments, end segment stalked, side segments short or not stalked, segments deeply lobed and toothed, long petioled below sessile above, upper leaves narrow and usually unlobed leaves 1, leaves 2, leaves 3

flowers – 5- to 7-petaled, bright yellow; terminal, solitary on upright stem flowers 1, flowers 2, flowers 3
