Scientific Name: Poa bulbosa L.
Family Name: Poaceae (Graminae) - Grass Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by tillers and seedhead bulbils

culms – upright, clump-forming, usually dense, stem base forming a bulb basal bulb 1, basal bulb 2, growth habit 1

leaves - blades smooth, flat or curled up slightly, boat-shaped tip, margins rough; folded rolled in bud; auricles absent; ligule membranous, pointed/triangular, relatively large; sheaths partially open above, closed near base ligule, leafblade tip

seedheads - panicle, open, terminal, oblong to oval, moderately dense, florets become vegetative bulbils, bulbils have dark purple bases, weight of bulbils often cause seedhead to droop seedhead 1, growth habit 2, seedhead 2
