Family Name: Asteraceae (Compositae) - Aster or Sunflower Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed

stems - reproductive scapes, very small scales, branching above, not hollow growth habit 1, growth habit 2

leaves - lanceolate, glabrous, shiny, lobes deep and irregular with round points, basal rosette leaves 1, leaves 2, leaves 3

flowers - heads of bright yellow ray (ligulate) florets, clustered 2 or more per stem; terminal flower heads
