Identification Notes:

life cycle - biennial, reproducing by seed

stems - upright, tall, leafy, smooth or coarse hairs, branched above during flowering growth habit

leaves - alternate, elongated, variable from entire, toothed or deeply cut pinnate lobes, smooth, blueish-green, veins sometimes sparsely haired below leaves

flowers - heads of yellow ray (ligulate) florets, heads urn-shaped; terminal clusters

other - contains milky sap
