Scientific Name: Hypochaeris radicata L.
Family Name: Asteraceae (Compositae) - Aster or Sunflower Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seeds

stems - reproductive scapes, leafless, hairy below, frequently with scales, several per plant reproductive scapes

leaves - oblanceolate to obovate, densely hairy above and below, margins irregularly lobed, basal rosette leaves 1, leaves 2

flowers - heads of bright yellow ray (ligulate) florets, toothed tip; clusters of few to several flowers

other - contains milky sap
