Identification Notes:

life cycle - annual, reproducing by seed

stems - ascending to upright, slender, branched at base, pubescence web-like growth habit 1, growth habit 2

leaves - opposite, linear to narrow-lanceolate, entire, sessile, pubescence web-like, mostly below

flowers - inconspicuous, petal absent, sepals woolly and often pinkish; terminal spike flower clusters 1, flower clusters 2
