Identification Notes:

life cycle - annual (sometimes biennial), reproducing by seeds

stems - upright, hairy, ridged growth habit 1, growth habit 2

leaves - basal elliptic to ovate, petioled; upper linear or lanceolate, short or no petioles; all leaves alternate, toothed, slightly hairy rosette leaves

flowers - heads of white(sometimes light purple) ray (ligulate) and yellow disc (tubulate) florets; clusters terminal or axillary above flowers, flower clusters
