Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed

stems - sprawling and climbing with twisting petioles, no tendrils, herbaceous to woody below, often purplish

leaves - opposite, compound, twisting pubescent petioles, 3 stalked leaflets; leaflets ovate, usually 3 main pointed lobes, coarsely toothed leaves

flowers - 4-sepaled, white, petals absent, fragrant, dioecious; axillary panicles clusters flowers

fruit - fruit 1-seeded, feathery plume-like tail fruit 1, fruit 2
