Family Name: Fabaceae (Leguminosae) - Pea or Bean Family

Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed and rhizomes with tubers tubers 1, tubers 2

stems - vine-like and twining, smooth to slightly pubescent growth habit

leaves - alternate, pinnately compound, 5 to 7 leaflets; leaflets lanceolate to oval, smooth above, pubescent below, terminal leaflet broader than lateral leaflets leaves 1, leaves 2

flowers - purplish-brown, fragrant; axillary racemes

seedpods - bean pod
