Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed and rhizomes
stems - upright, white-woolly, leafy growth habit

leaves - alternate, narrow, woolly, silver-gray, less hairy above

flower - heads of yellow disk (tubulate) flowers; pearly white, petal-like bracts; terminal clusters nearly flat-topped; dioecious, male and female flower on separate plants flower heads
