Identification Notes:

life cycle - perennial, reproducing by seed

culms - upright, stiff, form dense clumps growth habit 1, growth habit 2, growth habit 3, growth habit 4

leaves - blades flat, green to blueish-green, folded in bud; auricles absent; ligule membranous with minute hairs; sheaths smooth or slightly hairy

seedheads - long, hairy-stalked, solitary, axillary or terminal racemes
