Identification Notes:

life cycle - annual, reproducing by seed

stems - upright, frequently branched, hairy growth habit

leaves - narrowly or broadly lanceolate, toothed margins, opposite below, alternate above; young and frosted leaves often copper tinted leaves 1, leaves 2, seedlings

flowers - green, male and female separate but together, clustered male stalked above female; axillary, deeply notched leave-like bract subtending flower clusters 1, flower clusters 2
